Last updated: 21 October 2026. This policy explains what personal information Tickled & Tempted collects, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it and what rights you have. Tickled & Tempted is a UK online shop. We are the “controller” of your information under UK data protection law. Contact: info@tickledandtempted.co.uk
1. Information we collect
- Order information: your name, delivery address, billing address, email address, phone number (if you give one) and the items you order.
- Account information: if you create an account, your login details and order history. Passwords are stored in encrypted form.
- Messages: anything you send us through our contact or returns form or by email.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment provider (for example PayPal). We receive confirmation that you have paid and limited details such as the payment method, but we do not see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and our hosting provider’s server logs. See our Cookie Policy.
- Marketing choices: if you ask to receive offers, your email address and the date you agreed.
2. Why we use your information and our legal reasons
- To take, deliver and support your order, and handle cancellations, returns and refunds. Reason: it is necessary to carry out our contract with you.
- To keep accounting and tax records. Reason: legal obligation.
- To answer your questions and resolve complaints. Reason: our legitimate interests in running a good service.
- To prevent fraud and keep our website secure. Reason: our legitimate interests.
- To send you marketing emails. Reason: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
We do not make decisions about you using automated profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Who we share your information with
We never sell your information. We share only what is needed with the people who help us run the shop:
- Fulfilment partners who pack and post your order in plain packaging.
- Couriers and delivery services, so they can deliver your parcel and send tracking updates.
- Our payment provider, to take payment and prevent fraud.
- Our website hosting, email and security services.
- Our accountant or professional advisers, if we use them.
- Authorities such as HMRC, courts or the police, where the law requires it.
These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us.
4. Transfers outside the UK
Some of our providers (for example our payment provider) may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we expect them to use protections approved under UK data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
5. Private purchases
We know what you buy can be personal. Parcels go out in plain packaging with no description of the contents, order details are used only to fulfil your order and look after you, and we do not use them to guess private things about you or share them with advertisers.
6. How long we keep your information
- Order and payment records: 6 years after the order, because tax rules require it.
- Account information: until you ask us to close your account, then only what the law requires.
- Messages and returns requests: up to 2 years after the matter is resolved.
- Marketing details: until you unsubscribe.
7. Keeping it safe
Our website uses HTTPS encryption, two-step login for administrators, login-attempt limits, automatic security updates and regular backups. No online service is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If there is a breach that is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office as the law requires.
8. Your rights
You have the right to: see the information we hold about you; have it corrected; have it deleted (where we are not required to keep it); restrict or object to how we use it; receive a copy in a portable format; and withdraw consent for marketing at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@tickledandtempted.co.uk. We will reply within one month. There is no fee unless a request is clearly unreasonable.
9. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Cookies
We use cookies to make the basket, checkout and login work, and to remember that you confirmed you are 18 or over. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
11. Age
Our shop is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we find that we have, we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your information in a significant way, we will tell you.
