A clean toy is a happy toy, and a happy toy is one you will want to use again. The good news: it takes about two minutes.
- Check the instructions first. Some toys are fully waterproof, others are splash-proof only. Never submerge anything that is not waterproof, and never wash the charging port.
- Wash after every use with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap, or a dedicated toy cleaner. Rinse well and pat dry with a clean towel.
- Let it dry fully before it goes away.
- Store it on its own, in a clean pouch or box, away from other toys. Different materials can react with each other, and softer ones can pick up dust and fluff.
- Keep it out of heat and sunlight, and charge it before you pack it away.
Quick rule: if it smells odd, feels sticky or has changed texture, retire it. A new toy is cheaper than a bad day.
